Alba 16" TV- how much should I ask?

acmoore (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 18th February 2003, 15:11

Hi. Can anyone advise me on how much to ask for this TV, which I`m planning to sell in Loot magazine?
It`s a 6 year old Alba, 16" high resolution Nicam TV and remote with teletext + an Ikea shelving unit for DVD + VCR + scart leads etc. Good picture and sound. 50 or 60 quid? Must be collected.
Any help much appreciated, as I`ve never done this before!
Cheers.

>> 50 or 60 quid <<
Without being cruel you would be very fortunate to get £ 25.00
At least three strikes against it : 1. It`s an Alba 2. It`s very old 3. It has no warranty
Sorry but that`s the reality.

They are not crap. They are just cheap.

Alba, Goodmans and other economy makes are cheap because they use cheap components which usually means limited life components. Statistically I doubt if many of these products go more than 5 years without a serious fault though there will be a small proportion that will run perfectly for a long time. What distinguishes the brand names in these stakes is that a much higher proportion falls in this category. Its all a game of chance really. Want to play?
