I`m using a pioneer dv-535 multi region player via a video recorder through a quite old pal only tv set. Will i still be able to watch region 1 discs or other region discs through my pal tv? or does the tv need to be ntsc compatible? Cheers.

your tv needs to be able to accept a 60hz signal or R1 discs will play in black and white. check your instructions maybe...
