What causes the picture to flicker?????????

vidall (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Friday, 29th December 2000, 12:11

I own an upgraded Wharfedale 750. Over the few R1 films I have noticed the picture shudder. Is my player giving up the game or does the lazer need cleaned. This doesn`t happen all the time

Any one able to give advice.

If the lazer needs cleaned, what is the best cleaning kit to use??

It is probably due to the transfer from NTSC to PAL50, have you checked the setup menu and tried changing it to PAL60? this will only work if you TV can handle it.

This has helped me on my Wharfie 750s. If by flicker you mean it is slightly juddery, as if the occasional frame is being missed, playing on PAL 60 improved it, but it is not perfect. I found this on R1 Fight Club, by the way.

Anybody any further suggestions?

Yeah, but you won`t like it!

Get an Aiwa 370 and set the switch on the back to PAL.

No judders, no frame misses, no b&whites, NO PROBLEMS! lol

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!
