Quest 1:keep Sony DVP-735D ? / Quest 2 : dts volume ?
I recently purchased a sony DVP-S735D multiregion,i know its an older model but i got it at a discounted price through clearence.
It was supposed to be brand new, but on inspection it was not (slight damage)
Quest 1 : would changing it for a sony DVP-NS905 be worth the hassle when it will cost me extra.(not bothered about all disc formats or sacd)
I`m currently using its on board decoders outed through its 5.1analog out, temporarily to 3 identical amps.
Quest 2 : when i play dvd`s with dts, the ambient sound and speech is quiter than DD,but action sequences are equal in volume and more detailed and crisp as expected.
Is this the norm for dts ?????

It depends how much damage there is as the 735d is a stonker of a player.
I don`t notice that speech and ambients are quieter on DTS with my set up, in fact it`s the oposite everything is louder.

Thanks for the reply.I`m hoping a amp with its own decoder connected via the digital coaxal out improves the dts,if not its back to the shop.
