Scan and the Manhatten are identical, except the scan has a pass though scart port for your sky digital...

Think all these players are maunfactured in Korea, with standard parts.

I own a scan SC-2000 player and am totally satisfied with it.

Let face it.. If you pay a sub price, you will only get a sub quality product.

The scan sc-2000 player shines above others in the sub £200 market.

Nelish of Scan has involved himself in supporting a continous improvement programme for this player, through firmware upgrades and communication with the Korean manufacturer.

Logix (LG) are no longer taking any more stock of this DVD player and their whole initial shipment came with the inferior CS4955 video chip. I am not sure of Scan`s long-term plans but we here at Manhattan have just entered the DVD market and have many new models coming out next year: a portable unit with 8inch screen, a slimline budget deck, an integrated digital TV with DVD (for NTSC only initially), plus continuing integration with our evolving Satellite range a little further down the line.

So, depending on this, if deciding between the Manhattan and the Scan the only things to think about are the design and colour of the front panel.

Regards,

Alex.

Correct me if I`m wrong here...but isn`t that another advert for yerself Alex?

What the difference between "x/y/z player" and the answer is "not a good chip, don`t know what that other company`s doing but I`m bringing out new players"?

Again blatant advertising. If you wanna use the forums for plugging your wares (and, by the way, I am not saying don`t do it!), then give the reviewer boys a nice backhander!!

I`m in Retail..I know how much adverts cost...much cheaper and much more effective to throw a post on the finest boards in the land!

Am I on my own here, or does anyone else agree?
(oh, and to the original poster, if you wanna check out the Aiwa 370 specs etc: http://aiwaownersnetwork.tripod.com )

Oh, and Sheppy..if yer reading this..that "item" is being sent today! lol

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!

We are currently advertising in What Satellite and Home Cinema Choice with full page adverts.

And actually I was still answering his question which basically was - what is the Logix and should I get one?

Go ahead and buy one if you want an inferior product with no support. Buy a Manhattan or Scan otherwise.

Maybe a little advertising, but I call it advice :)

Alex.

Thanks for the advice i will not be buying a logix machine now how can bimbo say that advise is advertising if i had not got some advice i could have bought some thing which is inferior. As for the negative mail about scan think about how many machines scan must have sold and i bet that if you count how many have had problems i bet its a low percentge against whats been sold. A supplier will not keep on re ordering a dodgy product and keep on getting returns of faulty machines and all the ear ache and bad publicity that goes with it or he will call it a day [ you would not keep buying light bulbs with no element would you!!]

Also bimbo talking of advertising why do you answer every question in the forum and say that the aiwa 370 is the best you have even made a web site to your favorite player you either get paid for this blatant advertising or you are sad and don"t get out much!

GET A LIFE SAD BOY!!! GET A SCAN SC2000

WIGGYS GAY!!!!!!!!

Which part of the above statement has ANYTHING to do with the question posted? Thats where I sed it was blatant advertising, and I`m right! Just because you advertise elsewhere doesn`t justify grabbing a freebie here!

>"Thanks for the advice i will not be buying a logix machine now how can bimbo say that advise is advertising "

Bimbo? Nice one coming from someone called Shaggy! Lol

>"Also bimbo talking of advertising why do you answer every question in the forum and say that the aiwa 370 is the best you have even made a web site to your favorite player you either get paid for this blatant advertising or you are sad and don"t get out much!"

Thats because I work in Retail, have tested over THIRTY players and found none to compete with the Aiwa (and I`ve owned SEVEN players)
I`ve also posted that the LG 3350 is more suitable to those wanting inbuilt Dolby Decoder, but at the expense of VCD playback.
My payment for the advertising?
Financial = NONE!
Personal?= A lot of mail from people who are happy with the help AND advice I have given!

>"GET A LIFE SAD BOY!!! GET A SCAN SC2000 "

Lolol..another who knows nothing..my life`s plodding along quite happily thanks, and I nearly did...then I saw the AIWA! :oÞ
And just a quick pointer..I work in Retail and coulda made a huge amount of bonus by arranging player discounts through this site, but I didn`t!
I aint doing this for financial gain, but to help others..ie: WHAT THE FORUM IS FOR!!
No one even has confirmation of who I work for on here..just rumours and guesswork!

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!!
(and go Carrot, Clayts, Duke, Lievn etc and tell me if I`m right or wrong..?)
