New Scan Sc-2000 firmware 2.04 (Return of the dreaded Macrovision)

DaveyG (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 12th December 2000, 22:04

Tried this firmware and the option to disable the macrovision seems to have disappeared..

Previous firmware file size has been 512Kb... Version 2.04 is 524Kb

Maybe Marcovision is clamping down on company which is providing
this firmware ?

Do you have any comments Nelly ?

I think installing the frimware automatically disables macro and keeps
it disabled without having the option to remove it.

Chris67, the filename is TDVD-000.ROM although you can change the filename expected in one of the hidden menus anyway.

I haven`t been able to upgrade using CD R/W and I couldn`t use Nero to burn my CD-R. I used WinOnCD in the end and it recognised it ok.

If Macrovision is an issue for you then it seems that the latest firmware version doesn`t have the disable function:-(

Do we have the definitive word on the Macro on or off?

Can I go back to 191 if 204 brings back the dreaded flicker?

i used nero to burn to a CD-R and it loaded it in the DVD
and it worked first time. Are you using an old version of Nero ,mine is version 4.0.9.0.All i did was burn it with the wizard.

Burn the firmware in the route directory of the CD.
and burn as CDROM-XA mode 1

I used CDR-WIN....

If you dont have the correct software.. download it from

http://www.cdrdownloads.ic24.net/

Hambone, I tried using Nero 5.0.2.2. I`ll give it another go with the new firmware in case I did something stupid. Has anyone managed to burn it to a CD R/W and get it to work?
