s-video to scart black and white problem

wonderfibre (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 10th October 2002, 16:30

just got an s-video to scart lead to connect my scan 2500 (which works :P ) to my tv (s video from dvd. scart into tv)

but the only signal i get is black and white :(
the tv can handle NTSC signals so that`s not the problem.

what am i doing wrong?

Is the scart socket you`re using for s-video and not RGB scart? Or, have you tried pressing the AV button on your remote repeatedly, to find the s-vid channel?

Have you set the DVD player to output s-video? That`s all I can think of right now, but I hope you sort it.

cheers

Are you sure the lead you`ve got is the right direction (i.e. it should say FROM DVD player TO TV) : the direction makes a difference.

However, I would think it`s more likely you need to fiddle with a setting in your TV externals menu, to reconfigure the SCART socket you`re connected to as S-Video : i.e. I agree with the above post :-)
