PLEASE VOTE! your opinions count..RE: time to let the Aiwa rest

OK, Orac has suggested that everyone is fed up of "Aiwa Rocks" constantly.

Do you, the forum members, agree with this statement?
Are you fed up of hearing about the Aiwa 370?
Would you like me to let it rest?
Do you want me to shuddup for a while?

YOU decide. The vote is open, and as Duke did with the Hitachi sig, I now put the "Aiwa (officially) Rocks" signature on hold until this is decided.

Please feel free to cast your vote, for or against. :o)

Its your sig, mate. Like Dukey, you keep it.

But, I suggest we have an open thread so that every newbie who wants to know what budget player to buy, gets the stock Aiwa 370 response automatically :))))

Lecsons do it lustily!!!!!!

If I were looking for a new DVD player at the moment I would probably look here (which is why I ended up with the excellent Aiwa).

If people were not allowed to say that the Aiwa rocks then I would probably not have found out about it. In fact I can thank Jimbo for recommending the player in the first place.

Perhaps you could have a voting system where poeple could vote for their favourite DVD player and the top 5 highest votes would be displayed?

Either way, if Jimbo wants to say that the Aiwa rocks in his sig, that`s fine by me :-)

Cheers
Jez

I am totally fed up with people saying how great the damn aiwa is. I mean sure it might be great, but I dont need ot hear it at the end of every second message now do I? I mean there must be other people out there with other players that arent speaking up to defend there players. How come these people are always buying a new player? Man I have a Proline DVD 1000 and am proud to admit it. From now on I will go on about how great it is in every message, just to be fair.

In summary: I think all these folk who are constantly saying how the aiwa "rocks" are really boring. Man have some variety.

Proline DVD 1000 is soo nice. Man it is the sexiest block of electronic stuff in my whole house.

I can see no real reason why you should drop the tag, you bought a box you like and wanna tell everyone, I feel the same way about the LG3350 I bought, which is the newer version of the Aiwa and only has slight differences in spec (for the better obviously). I personally think the LG is the Daddy here and lose no sleep over the fact that there`s no easy hack to play VCD, I would rather have the enhanced sound quality of the built in decoder!
Keep the tag, I will not be distracted from the Laser God.
And LG did make the Aiwa in it`s own image.......

Thanks for the support! ;o)

>"I feel the same way about the LG3350 I bought, which is the newer version of the Aiwa and only has slight differences in spec (for the better obviously)."
Slight factual problem there...the Aiwa is the newer of the two, minus Dolby decoder and a few "bookmarking" features.

>"I personally think the LG is the Daddy here and lose no sleep over the fact that there`s no easy hack to play VCD, I would rather have the enhanced sound quality of the built in decoder!"

Nope, it aint the "Daddy" its a near cousin! (check mine and Toll`s sites) and the sound quality is exactly the same unless you have an amp with 5.1 inputs.

>"And LG did make the Aiwa in it`s own image......."

Back to front there mate...Aiwa cloned the LG!
But let`s not fight...essentially we have the same player and we both know how good it is! :o)

I`ll be checking with the LG rep in the new year to see if theres a firmware to let you guys do VCD or not..and about Macro disable.
Keep in touch for the results...

I find that I must bow to your superior anorakism`s :))

It is undisputed that the guts of both machines are truly exceptional. They are the Daddy over Tha Chit :P (not a brilliant anagram but I`m not going to spend ages trying to come up with something really clever)

It would seem that Dixons have got a big stock on of 505`s, otherwise why are they trying to shift them at a discount.

As far as I found, the LG and Aiwa`s are becoming very hard to buy as everyone seems to want one, and that`s without being advertised on national telly :))))

Pay homage to the Laser God 3350 and let the Aiwa Rock!

My Amiga is better than your Atari ST - who cares about the midi port.

Hope I`m in the right area, get a bit confused with message boards and people can be soo arsey about off topics.....
