Watching NTL TV in another room?

sj (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 28th September 2002, 23:28

I`ve got Sky now and it`s easy to connect it to the tele in the bedroom. Just a cable from `2nd TV` socket on the back of the digi box to the bedroom. I`ve also got one of those `mice` magic eye things that let me control Sky from the bedroom.
I`m thinking of going to NTL and have a couple of Q`s..
1) can and how do you connect a second tv to NTL? (Know I won`t be able to watch a different channel.) Is it as simple as Sky? Someone said you may need another box and pay a reduced subscription. Surely that`s only if I want to watch another channel..
2) Is it possible to control the box remotely?

Cheers,

Ste

Oh, should this have been in General Froum? If so, please move.

I tried this by buying a Philips video sender from Tesco. It was fine for sending the picture and ound to another set upstairs but the IR signel on the Pace boxes is not compatable, so had to take it back. I have had a similar problem with my TIVO controling the Pace NTL box but they have fixed that now. - I have a Spare Pace NTL digi box which I am about to put on eBay. I wouldn`t know how to set it up though.

Surely it can be done simpler than buying sender/receiver units. On the Sky Digibox there`s actually a socket on the back called 2nd TV so it`s just a co-ax run to the 2nd tele.
Nothing similar on NTL? If not I won`t be getting it for TV - just broadband.
