I can`t seem to get my Alba 108 to play vcds, can anyone help me please?

Hi
I find the best way to use the 108 with vcds is either press the goto quickly when you hear the disc spin-up then the play if the not correct disc appears so the draw does not open repeat the goto until you see the dropdown list at the screen top then press 1 or play will sometimes work. Or press the goto all the time then the 1 button if the dropdown screen appears.
