Before you take the plunge you might want to check out which format you prefer. DVD+R or DVD-R. there are pros and cons to both. But at the moment DVD-R media is very cheap, and looks to be the winner. However no one knows which format will become industry standard.

Undecided I purchased a Philips 880 (DVD+R) and a Panasonic E20 (DVD-R) The Panasonic has the edge on build quality, features, remote, looks, cost of media etc. But I have to admit, the Philips has the better picture quality which is what its all about, i suppose.

Although I have ordered a replacement Panasonic so I am hoping the picture quality will be better. It should be.

Happy Shopping

P.S. Richer Sounds are supposed to be getting the 880 in for £399.
