Scolling diagonal bars from my Sony DVPNS400 DVD Player

David Bell (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 22nd July 2002, 17:54

My Sony DVD is connected to my Sony widescreen via an S-Video cable. I get bars scolling accross the screen, these are more noticable on the Sony Intro screen. Has anyone any comments.

First check that all your connections are firmly pushed home. Next go into the SONY setup display and make sure that S-Video is the chosen output.

If you`re still having problems it may be an interference problem. Ensure that the S-video cable is of good quality (i.e. fully screened - most of the cheap or "freebie" cables are dreadful in this respect) and make sure it`s kept well away from other cables - especially power leads!

If none of this helps then you either have a problem with the TV or the DVD player. If you can, try to borrow a friend`s machine and try it on your TV - if you still have the problem then you`ll know which is the culprit!

Good luck!

I get this problem with my Panasonic. I have to unplug my amplifier aerial thingy to get it to work right.
