TV Problem (high-pitched noise)

dsm (Competent) posted this on Friday, 28th June 2002, 11:17

I have a Panasonic TX28PK3 television and have recently noticed a real high-pitched noise coming from it. Anyone know what a possible cause/solution might be?

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,

Don`t know what causes it and neither did the engineer who Empire sent to look at my Sony KV32FQ75 which had the same problem. My replacement is fine though -so if its new get it swapped if you can.

Good luck.

I have a widescreen sharp and It has started making a high pitched noise also, it seems to be a problem with the scart connection`s, but it does drive me up the wall, I am hoping to open it up and see if it has any loose connections if not it will have to go.

Sconie.

If i am not mistaken there is a sub panel on the scan coils which has a coil which causes this problem sometimes. I think it is a trip to your local tv repair man, don`t try to attempt repair yourself.
