TV Problem

Dolby Freak (Competent) posted this on Monday, 17th June 2002, 17:19

My brother put a pair of speakers next to his TV that aren't shielded, and obviously it will damage the screen. In the bottom right corner, the colour is slightly distorted. Is there anything he can do about it?

Cheers
Adam

(1) Move the speakers

(2) Degauss your TV : http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/D/degauss.html

A simple degauss for most TVs can be implemented simply by switching off at the mains for , say, 30 minutes (until everything inside it cools
right down) & then plugging the mains back in & switching it back on ; you must, of course, completely disconnect from the AC mains - not just
use the standby button or on/off switch (although the latter will work
in most cases it isn`t guaranteed).
