Hello,
I`m trying to Backup my VCD`s to S-VHS. I thought that Macrovision was not present on VCD`s, but when trying to record, I get Macrovision symptons (Flashing, B&W etc... etc...). I even tried ripping a DVD to VCD and removing Macrovision, but it still won`t work.
Can anyone help with this ? My DVD Player isn`t Macro free (Pioneer Dv-646a) and the Video is JVC S-VHS. I`m simply connecting a Scart between the two.
I could buy a Macrobuster Scart thingy, but shouldn`t need to !

Macrovision isn`t present on VCDs. I`m wondering, are you trying to record NTSC VCDs on a PAL VCR? The symptoms are very similar.

Pretty sure that`s your problem. Your DVD player should (might!) have an option to change the output. Multi/NTSC/PAL. Change to PAL and you should be OK..
