Page 1 of OMG Samsung-511 region free with NORMAL handset...!!

Thanks to Mike G for letting me know about this, I tried the Thompson DTH-3300 region crack on my Samsung-511 with the remote which comes with it and it Worked, not only region 1, but region free..!
Now how happy am I!!!!!

do u know if u can change regions more than 5 times..becasue that is what i hear...that u only can change the region 5 times....and if u cant will a reset ore coldstart give u 5 more times to change the region

Excellent! But don`t thank me, thank Johan Eriksson for posting the hack and Jason Waghorn for having the foresight to try it on a Sammy... :-)

You can change the region something like 3-5 times, but a cold start will reset the counter (i.e. the player isn`t locked permanently). So don`t worry about the player getting stuck on R1 or whatever.

Also anyway to make it play MP3, and /or CDR discs, or am I outstaying my welcome now!!

1. Did anyone already tried it on the Hitachi 305? :-)

It should work on a 305.

Just try using number 9 when you perform the hack to get the player auto region free (like the old 709 hack) and can somebody test macrovision on a 511/305.

I will do today evening and try to post the results at 20:00 GMT. Just wondering if someone already did that, I hate that _temporary_ hack for 305 (with macrovision still present)...

Supposedly if you set it to region 9 macrovision is removed, but if you set it to one specific region then macrovision is still there!

PLEASE WORK ON A HITACHI 305!!!!!!!

I had a quick go at hacking my 305 this morning with no luck - even following a coldstart. I can get the old hack to work no problems. Anybody been successful yet?

My 305 hacks using no problem, using the new hack, but macrovision is not disabled, never mind i can return my ONE 4 ALL back to Argos now!!!!!
