Page 1 of Macrovision disabling .... where can i buy a "gizmo" to connect to dvd/vcr?

I have got a Philips dvd-622 ..... are there any boxes of tricks that can disable the macrovision signal thingy?

Is it just scart (dvd) > scart (vcr)? or can you use it scart(dvd) > video & audio l/r leads (vcr)??

They do work well but good one tend to cost alot of money and the cheap ones (sub £100) some really do "mess" with the picture quality.

If you do want to "backup" your dvd`s either upgrade dvd to one where the macrovision can be turned off. or DIVX your dvd`s on to CD`s.

SCART carries both analogue audio and video signals : not quite sure why you`d need to do this ?

hi ....... I need to do this because I have run out of scarts on the back of the video!!!

Ive got sky/dvd/playstation/tv/vcr all connected up & its all a bit messy round the back, so I though the easy way would be to go from spare scart on back of dvd player to the front av inputs on vcr.

Tell me Im wrong & I`ll gladly reconsider!!

What "accessories" on the sonel site do I need to enable above connections? Or can I wire it all up differently so that I just need to buy the basic "box"?

Could you confirm how many SCART sockets your TV and VCR have please, and I`ll see what I can come up with :-)

I have 2 on TV (Sony) both in use ...... one for dvd one for sky.

1 on dvd ...... also has (I believe) audio/video out jacks.

I have 2 on vcr ..... one for sky, the other free but nothing to plug into it!

Ive also got a scart "splitter" for Playstation > TV but it doesnt work, so I manually change dvd/playstation over if kids are being annoying!
