Can anyone tell me how to get the dealer lock off my dvd - this was the outcome of a hack gone wrong.

There is no such thing as a dealer lock. Are looking for the service menu or a regions 1-0 hack?


I have a region hack for a RC5910P (progressive scan) DVD from RCA/Thomson. I also own a RCA F-38310 I know the way to get into the Service Menu on the HDTV and 2 Sony DVD mega changers.

Whilst trying to change from region 2 to multi region:
1. Press play and stop
2. 1 for English Language
3. Repeat button on remote
4. Entered 3,8,7,6,7 (it came up region 2)
5. Pressed 9 for multi region
6. Open button on dvd
7. Then standby on dvd

Next a message came up on the dvd saying Dealer Lock on and now it won`t open etc. Tried the forward search buttons but this message still comes up, even after being switched off at the wall for over 24 hours.
PS sorry about the bucket of steam - not use to this Hi Tech talk - just worried about how to explain to the manufacturers what I`ve been up to as it is still under guanrantee. Paula.

"There is no such thing as a dealer lock" - yeah, right! There is, and it is there to lock the disk in the player to stop people ripping off the DVD used for display in a shop.

Hold down the stop button on the player and press the power button on the remote to toggle the dealer lock on/off.

i also have the rc5910p. Can you help me with a region hack?

I have the RC5910P-B and I found your note about the RC "region hack". Could you tell me more about the DVD you have from RCA/Thomson or how to change the codes on this model.
