vcdhelp.com is a very usefull site when checking of your player can play CDR / CDRW / DVDR ----- BUT most of it`s region hacks are absolute crap...
the only way to get this machine to play other regions is to buy a chip and have it fitted or have it upgraded with the chipped remote that chippers have ....
you can also rent this remote from (EDITED BY MODERATOR : A COMPANY LIKE) to convert one player

Clay since you didn`t mention RCA, you could do a ROTFLMAO.
I have already hacked my RCA RC6000P progressive by remote control I have it set for Region 4 Australia.
I have a number of companies that will sell you a kit for $69 for either of my Sony CX-860 or CX-850 mega changers. BTW I have my Sony CX-850D for sale Region 1 holds 200 discs. :)
