Requesting Zone & Region free codes for Panasonic DMP-BD75EG-K - Blu-ray player

Themevictory (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 28th February 2012, 17:38

Greetings,

I have recently purchased a Panasonic DMP-BD75EG-K - Blu-ray player. Which is locked to region 2 and Zone B.
I have searched every where on the internet but failed to find region and zone free codes.

Can somebody please help me finding or providing region free and Zone free codes?

Thank you very much for your help.

Enjoy your day.

There`s no hack to make it play other zone blu-rays although a lot aren`t locked to one zone anyway.

You can make it region-free for DVD playback, but it`s very complicated, and involves purchasing a Kameleon remote and programming it to do a lot of special functions.

However, I read that the US machines can still only play NTSC DVDs, so it`s possible that European machines can still only play PAL DVDs - not sure. However, you can download, burn to disc and install enhanced firmware to get round this problem, although if it isn`t officially approved by Panasonic, it`ll likely void your guarantee.

Personally, I`d buy a cheap multiregion DVD player and sit one on top of the other. Probably cheaper than the Kameleon remote.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
So a kameleon remote can make it region-free for DVD.
But what about blu-ray??? Is there a way to make it zone-free for blu- ray discs play???

Thanks again for your interest. Enjoy your day

No way to play other zone blu-rays. Just buy them from Zone B.

Thanks for your reply.
Can you clarify one thing for me please??
You said

Can you please specify what did you mean by "a lot"???
Did you mean Blu- ray films or did you mean blu-ray player behind the expression "a lot"???

Thanks again
Sincerely

Sorry, I haven`t been keeping up with this. Warner, Paramount and Universal all release Blu-Rays playable anywhere in the world. Maybe 1% of their releases are locked to a zone, but it`s incredibly rare.

There are probably other film companies that also release unlocked Blu-rays, but I`m not sure on who or percentages. This information can be found on the web if you use Google to your best advantage.

Hope that helps. I can`t really give you any further help with this because I always buy my blu-ray discs from the UK, now that there is no fiscal advantage in buying from the US, so it isn`t an issue for me.
