My Philips 701 was unplugged for 3 weeks while I moved and re decorated house last summer and it never lost any settings and it didnt loose the Philips 750 Hack.

I think there is a way to re set factory defaults but I cant remember what it is????

Why not tell us what the problem is as it might be a known fault that a cure is available for?

its a sound problem

after i hacked it the centre channel sound seems to be a lot lower than all the rest . i have resorted to lowering channel levels on all channels and turning up to near full the centre channel,
what should the channel levels be set at

i know some discs are bad for this but i have tried

T2 r1 not bad
swordfish r1 not bad

Jeepers creepers r1 not too bad

tomb raider r2 awfull

i don,t know if i ts me being paranoid or if the hack has done somthing , don,t think its the amp as music, sky etc etc all sound fine

To reset the Philips to its original factory settings and Region 2 playback
This only works on the Philips 710. This may also bypass the 25 region change limit, but will not unlock a region locked machine.

1. Press the buttons Play, 1, 5 and 9 on your remote control. The onscreen display should look like this: `____ ____`

2. Using the number keys on your remote control, enter the code 004001 00014 0

3. Press the Play button on your remote control

4. The onscreen display should return to the original Philips splash screen, all settings will be reset back to factory defaults

Hope this helps

I have a problem with a DVD750 not playing a couple of films - I have tried to use some of the hacks but they don`t seem to work without a programmable remote, I have used this code but it has not reset it to region2.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Neil

do you know how to use the region hack for a phillips 750 on this website as i can`t get it to work on a phillips 622 which it should work on, its seems to be a bit too complicated for me, if you could help i would be very grateful.
(its the bit where it says "send the intfa red code RC6 to your player")

Thanks

Neil,
You will probably find that one of your lasers is knackered. I bet the discs you cant play are "Dual Laser" type. You shouldnt have any problems with "Single Laser" discs, unfortunately the only solution is new laser or new machine - sorry to be bearer of bad news

Lee,

Thanks for the help, is there any easy way of checking to see if it is the "laser" or am I best just claiming on the house insurance??

Thanks

Neil
