Page 1 of Philips DVDR 1000

Please, does anyone have any info on hacking the Philips DVDR 1000 to playback multi-region, or change from region 2 to region 1.

1) you need the same one for all six remote set for philips dvd players
2)go into the menu of the DVDR1000 and set the "remote control used"
option DVD player (remember to reset afterwards!).
3) The code which you must enter is :-12 12 12 00 52 55 and not the
usual philips hack code of 222222005255
4)remember apart from the hack code the proceedure is identical to the normal philips hack i.e. on the one for all six dvd then "magic" then 085
then hack code then play then off then switch on

I have just purchased the above player and would like hack to multi-region, unfortunatley as a newby I could not understand your answer and would be grateful therefore if you explain more practically the procedure to enable me to hack.

"playback multi-region, or change from region 2 to region 1.".....isn`t it supposed to support NTSC playback anyway? According to the retail bumph I got from philips, it`s in the spec list. Just wondering.

Thanks so much for your reply. Will this hack work on this machine since it is a recorder as well? The sales person told me, that it might not be possible, plus he was not sure. He said 99% of the Philips region 2 can be hacked, but was not sure on this one. All it need is the playback to play region 1 in the hack. Again thanks for the info.

Go into the multi-region hacks, use the remoteable hack. Look for a Philips player ie: 711 0r 952 use the same steps, except for the code, use the one Rob posted. Let me know how it works, since I don;t have a six for all. I have to go look for one (live in Germany) or order it.

It will record NTSC and it will play it back as a region 2, but region 1 dvd`s of NTSC will not until the player is unlocked or hacked.
