- Connect and turn on TV and DVD player - With no disc inserted, select 'setup' on the remote control - Enter these numbers *SLOWLY* on the remote control: 5, 0, 1, 8, 0 - Press 'OK'
Hack complete.
This is really courtesy of Steve who posted the hack for the DVDR3460 which works perfectly on the 3480 too! Thanks Steve.

Hi there,
I`ve just tried this on mine and nothing happened when I pressed 5,0,1, but when I pressed 8 I got a grey box up on screen with the TV channel it was set on showing behind the grey box. It had several series of codes including something called PVR and stuff, loads of letters and numbers with a few symbols scattered in. It didn`t change when I pressed the last 0 in, is that what`s meant to happen do you know?
It`s all baffling lol

The above hack does work for this DVD recorder - make sure that you enter the numbers slowly for it to work - count two seconds between key presses and make sure that at the top right of the screen you can see the RED X`s at each key press. When you get to 8 the screen should change and show you a dark grey background with lots of numbers across the top - at the bottom you will see a little box with the number 2 in it - WHEN and ONLY when you press ZERO (which is the LAST key press in the number sequence) will the region be reset to multi region. Then press OK.
Just done mine and my friends one - both now multi region

Yep it does work, though you don`t think it will, as I saw no indication until that screen with the 2 in the small box appears. I am a complete technophope and this is the third recorder/player that I have converted to multi regional! Therefore if I can do it anyone can. Thanks to everyone involved in this hack, it works, watching a `Bodyline` (Cricket) Region 4 DVD as I write.

can anyone help. i need to record protected content from my sky plus box. but when i do.. it says CANNOT COPY on the front is this fixable?
