Need hack for ROWA - 3610 (New player ?)

gielium (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 27th October 2001, 22:35

Hi,
I bought a Rowa 3610 dvd player at sears last monday. I havent found anything on the web about this player, so i asume it`s new.

So you guessed right, i`m looking for a region hack for this player.

Thanks in advance

Chris

I think you may need to look at the Rowa 280 put it in the search of these forums this machine came in two different builds sold at Asda one could be hacked and the other required chipping.Try and determine if yours is one of these with a new model number? one as a service port on the back the other does not.

Well i doubt it, alltough i`m new to this, all i`ve read about this "280" player doesnt ring a bell to me, alltough some things look like the 280 others are way off.

I dont have a service port in the back, nor do i have a switch to set the ntsc / pal / auto.

My manual says Rowa 3610.

My power button and the open/close button on the player are blue.

Does this still sound like a posible 280 ?

Thanks in advance.

oh p.s. ofcourse i`ve tried the hacks for the 280 without suc6.

When i trie to play a region 2 disc it says "Region error"

:) RF output on a DVD player ... now that`s funny ..... you need to take the cover off and take a digital photo of the main board

( make sure the player is unplugged from the mains before doing this !!)

Hey Steve,

Ok cover is off, i dont have my camera up and running yet, but i`le give you a little description of what i see.

On the actual player part it says :

DVD Loader Model: TD-505-A the model is printed on a sticker, so there might be somthing underneath.

Ok there is somthing underneath :) pealing it off right now :

Model : DV-2HP

The main chip inside is a :

Zoran ZR36712TQC / Vladdis III-2

Is this making things easyer for ya or do you still need the pics?
