so far a hack has not been found , it can only be chipped .. gives auto region and macro off

could anybody help or am i the only person on the planet who can play region 1 disks on a pacific dvd player or as steve says in a later post i have the *odd* one.

You do have an *odd* one ..... but going off the Rowa 280 saga who knows how many different versions of Pacific 1000 there are out there ... I can only speak for what I have seen ...

I think the Pacific board that I`ve seen is simply the later Rowa board ( so maybe there were 3 types of Rowa) in a different case . One customer has mailed this which seems to confirm it

"i was messin around with the remote [on pacific 1000] and got the message "rowa2ch0813" on screen "

If i`d have know all this, i would have probably spent £150 on a multi-region player!!

Saying that, for £100, it does everything else I want! (CDR, MP3, VCD).

but you wont pay £50 for the upgrade ( £100 + £50 = £150 ) that makes a lot of sense :)

Removing the cover ** Shock Horror ** (there are no tamper proof seals) and reprogramming the player internally for auto region
