Page 1 of Help Needed My Alba 104A Just Went Pop

I went to play a region 2 disk on my 6 week old Alba 104A and the display came up with Wrong Region I tried a couple of other disk with the same message. I phoned Alba who said take it back to Argos, but my local Argos don`t have any 104A`s left. Could someone tell me of a possible fix or if there are any 104A`s left in the West Midlands.

Argos in Lichfield had some 104a`s left last week..
Also I noticed that Woolworths in Tamworth stocked them, don`t know about other branches though,( they were more expensive @ £149.99)

Mine has just gone too! i know yours went a while ago, but i would like to know how you sorted your problem out, as i`m going to have to do the same! Any help please would be gratefull

i bought a alba 104/a and have the same problem,i can play vcd`s only
so if i find a multi region chip or hack code i will let you know
