The Bush 2004 is Macrovision free out the box. I have it running through my video as my TV does not have scart.

Help Needed My Alba 104A Just Went Pop

I went to play a region 2 disk on my 6 week old Alba 104A and the display came up with Wrong Region I tried a couple of other disk with the same message. I phoned Alba who said take it back to Argos, but my local Argos don`t have any 104A`s left. Could someone tell me of a possible fix or if there are any 104A`s left in the West Midlands.

Thanks In Advance.

RE: I`m famous - well sort of...

While I have been lurking in the shadows of obscurity my flatmate did once kick Ray Park (Darth Maul) in the head at a Karate tournament some years ago. Apparently Mr Park met this slight mishap with a good natured smile and then to show no hard feelings waited a good ten seconds before beating the crap out of him.

RE: Alba 104 is macrovision free!!!

Hi

Just made the big leap into DVD ownership due to the posts on this thread. Went down to the local Argos and bought a Alba DVD104. I must say that I am very impressed so far. The picture quality is great (just as good as my mates Panasonic) and yes it is Macro free (at least the Pitch Black disc I rented from Blockbuster was).

Thanks guys for the heads up on this great bargain.

RE: DON`T BUY FROM DIXONS OR CURRYS

I have just fallen foul of the Dixons "Make it up as you go along" guarantee. I bought a Grundig MW70 28in wide screen TV from my local store. The TV had a build in Ondigital decoder that needed a software upgrade, the engineer arrived and fitted the upgrade on the saturday, by the Thursday the TV had broken down. I phoned the "service centre" and they said that as it was less than 28 days old I could take it back for a replacement. I phone the branch and they said that as it was a Managers Special product it was not covered by the 28 day rule. At no point was I informed of this exclusion and the warrenty document does not mention it. After 15 phone calls the best they could offer was a repair on the following Wednesday.

Could someone give me a pointer about the legality of this?

Thanks

LG 3350E

Could someone clarify for me does the LG3350E have a remote hack/hacks to disable regional coding and Macrovision? Also could someone let me know how the remote hacked player handles RCE. Or do I have to stump up the extra 50 quid for the Techtronics chipped machine.

Thanks in advance

RCE Freeze on Grundig

I have checked the Multi-Region Hacks section of this website and it indicated that the Grundig players use the Proline hack but it jams on RCE protected discs. Does anyone know if there is an update to this hack to get around RCE (the hack featured on this site does not have a date listed) also does the Proline hack disable Macrovision? if not could someone give me an alternative make of DVD in the £180 - £200 price range that can be Region 1 hacked, Macrovision disabled and RCE disabled.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Thanks
