Page 1 of HITACHI DV P505 FAN NEEDS MORE HELP!! PLEEEEASE FANTAC

I have managed to get as far as remote hacking my hitachi up to the point where the screen displays LOOPHOLES as the title. There are various subheadings which I can highlight. HOWEVER none of the subheadings say Region ? I also don`t know how to select or change any of the subheading given.

Any ideas??

Hello There,

You have got half way there, but not quite far enough! You can NOT hack the 505 directly by the handset alone. You must update the firmware on the player itself first. To do this you must acquire the ROM file, burn it to a CD-R/CD-RW disc, place it in your player and wait for about a minute before the ROM update has completed. Then you can use the remote to access the new features. The best site for this is the dedicated Hitachi site(when it is updated or even working..........! Only Joking Dukey

Thanks for your help so far.

My brother has tried to copying onto CD for us but the screen said DISC LOADING then INVALID ENTRY. What have we done wrong ? If you haven`t a clue then email me on... sddub.alegna[at]moc.dlrownepotb to get my address-CHEERS.

Insert the disk and then lift the back left hand corner up by about six inches/20cm ish the disk will now read.

I have also had the problem of the disc not being red by the player, however i also found some advice on how to get it 2 work by lifting the player up about 6inches, thereafter about 30 seconds the process should be complete and the draw wil open, then you set up from the remote to change the region of the Hitachi DV P905, Now the disc reads but the draw does not open after 30 seconds and nothing seems to happen.
