Which of these is the best.
but it MUST be able to play ntsc in colour when hacked.

Samsung 511 when hacked will make it multi region and will disable Macrovision.plays dvd,cd (not sure about cdr`s). £189.99 at Dixons. 2 channel output. I do not know of NTSC is converted to PAL.
Wharfedale M5 when hacked will be multi region. Built in Dolby dogital and DTS decoders. Plays dvd, vcd, svcd, cd-r, cd-rw and MP3. will convert ntsc to pal60/50. £179.99 at Tescos. No macrovision hack yet but Clayts is workin on it.
My opinion-the M5.

The comet near me now has the samsung for 149.99!! but I don`t think it plays Cd-r,Cdrw`s.

I think Macrovision is still activated on the 511.

511 still has Macrovision when hacked and so does the M5...
Heard quite a few reports that the M5 is seriously lacking in the quality control department. A few people have actually ended up returning them for a full refund as they stutter, skip and generally fail to play very well. Tesco`s also seem to have a supply problem, as the website hasn`t got any, and most stores are low. BUT, the M5 has a built in DD/DTS decoder, and for pure value must win....

Any way - Samsung 511 isn`t current player anymore....
Look out for the new range, including some with cd-r/rw support!
