I was going to have my Hitachi DC p-250 `chipped` but never got around to it. A friend of mine pointed me at this forum and led me to believe the people on here could make it jump through hoops. I`m hoping he`s correct and I can do something more economical than what they are asking to `chip` it.
Any help would be immensely appreciated.

It depends, I have a way to change the Hitachi p-2e?
It entails a little bit of soldering though. Let me know and I will send info.

There are a numkber of different updates, MR ,R2, and R1 for the player.

Thanks for the pointer. I got 3 downloads and only one of them worked; that was the one that created 2 disks, one being an erase disk. The other 2 went through the motions but it still refused to play region 1.
Anyway, I can now play my region 1 "Dune" which is what I wanted, so a BIG thanks.
I hesitate to ask but........ Is that all I can do or do you know if there is a macrovision fix for the P250?
BTW: what is MR, R2 & R1

MR = MultiRegion........plays DVD`s from all zones. R1 = Region 1 which is DVD`s from North America. R2 = Region 2 which is DVD`s from europe and japan!
It`s a system that dvd`s are encoded to stop us getting american DVD`s before the movie comes on cinema here.
