I have been sent 6 region 2 DVD`s as a present from a kind but dim relative abroad! Does anyone know a hack for the Grundig 210A machine. I cant do the Proline as there are no numbers on the remote control or am I interpreting this wrong?

Found this on the net but cant confirm if it works or not so use at your own risk please:
Grundig GDV-210A
1: Switch Off Machine 2: Switch On Machine 3: Open the tray and insert disk 4: On the remote - press 0 1 2 3 in sequence 5: On the remote - press play (the drawer will now close and the disk will play) !

Thats where I get confused there are no numbers on the remote so how do I press 0,1,2,3 ??

Hi
Can you help, I am looking for a region 1 hack - have you got any tips? I have tried the above as you never know your look I thought it may work for region 1 as well as regino 2, but it did not work !!

The number keys on the remote are under a hidden panel on the remote. Under the keys about halfway down there is a small indentation with the words open push this down and the bottom slides open exposing more keys including the numbers.
I tried the hack and it works perfect and it auto detects both region 1 & region 2 so you onlyhave to enter the code once.

i thought the grundig was already region 2 so why u need a hack to play region 2, maybe u mean u have been sent region 1 by your stupid relatives but the numbers are under the sliding panel on the remote and press 0 1 2 3 play when open, that will work.

I tried this hack to play region 1 discs but the picture scrolls on screen. Has anyone got any ideas whether this is the hack not working properly or some other incompatability with my TV?

Tried this last night and had no problems at all.....does your tv need to be NTSC compatible ???

Definitely sounds like its your TV that has the problem, not the hack. If the hack didnt work it wouldnt even play the disc, it would eject it and say wrong region.
