Page 1 of Any workable hacks for Goodmans GDVD141???

Just bought a Goodmans GDVD141 but can`t find a multi-regional hack that works. Have I bought the only Goodmans DVD that you can`t hack! Please help! Thanks.

Recommend you start going through all the bush & roadstar hacks. Goodmands is usually just a badge name.
but try this;
found this on this site:
Press the tv/av/dvd button until the dvd screen appears
press the stop button first on the remote(thats the one with the square on it)
then press 1 9 9 9 one number at a time (slowly), then a menu should be displayed. Region should already be highlighted with the region number outside the box,press enter and two little arrows will appear next to the region number. Use the up and down arrows on the remote to change this number to ALL then press the open/close button again and you should have a multi-region player.

This hack also works with the bush 141 and the goodmans hybrid that looks identical to the 142 except the base panel is grey.

The 1 9 9 9 method doesn`t display a menu, but it does show a single dash....I`ve read suggestions that hitting a 0 at this point will do the job, but it doesn`t work either.

Can`t find any Bush 141 hacks as suggested - does anyone know of any place to find one?

The roadstar 1437 hack doesn`t work either.

I`d really appreciate any help on this one!

I agree the same happened with my machine. I have noticed when you press and hold the PLAY button you get the following 3_5_21 10:37 FE:06.06 (Does this mean anything to anyone?) Also pressing and holding the STOP button restores to default.

:( I`ve tried this hack and all the Bush hacks I can find, but to no avail! Hope I`m not flogging a dead horse!

Try holding down the STOP button until the message comes up RESTORE TO DEFAULT. I was messing around with the control late last night and now the machine will play back REGION ONE discs.

They must have recently changed their fireware on the 141.. Last May 2003, someone posted this message

try this below with the dvd tray closed.... I`ll keep looking though if it doesn`t work.. Post your results.

1. Press the DVD function on your TV set
2. Press the Stop button on your TV set
3. Using your remote control, press the buttons 1, 9, 9 and 9 in order, one at a time
4. Press the Enter button on your remote control
5. You should now be in a secret area where you can change the region to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback

Steve, I can`t remember if the tray was in or out but the message RESTORE TO DEFAULT will come up. As no hidden menus popped up I am assuming that this is what I have done. Prior to this I had been trying one by one all hacks listed on this site in the hope that it was clone or used the same chip set.
