Page 1 of Hitachi DV-P505 Upgraded to Multiregion - But now no Audio Output !

I have upgraded my Hitachi DV-P505 using the DV-P505Ev0123Multiregion firmware upgrade as given on the DVD Reviewer site. Everything appeared to upgrade OK from the CD I had created but now I have no Audio Output !
Can someone please help !!

I have updated many 505`s using that upgrade with no problems. How is you player connected for Audio purposes?

Exactly the same way as before I attempted the upgrade - and it worked then !

The DVD is simply connected by scart to the TV, it was playing all ok before but it will not now even give audio output on cd`s either

jennings when you update the firmware the player jumps back to default settings.

Check the audio properties of the player and post them to me at my site.

I`ve tried several times to load the firmware and gone through the process as described in the instructions, everything seems to be all ok except the sound.

I`ll check the audio properties, but probably will not get a chance until 02.02.2001, I`ll mail them then if thats ok

The DV-P505 Audio circuits are away from the video circuits as they are in most DVD players. Therefore I can only assume that your upgrade disc is defective (try the Hitachi syndicate on the web); or you do not have a UK player. If you require a new original version firmware chip please let me know. reltub.nerraw[at]ku.oc.sreltubjt but I am away until the 9th Feb.

The DVD player is UK spec, the Audio has defaulted to the following :

Digital Output ; off

AC3 Dyn Rng : on

Dual Mono : stereo

Speaker set up : Downmix on

That is exactly the same as mine.

try resetting, if that does not work flash the firmware or a different on again.
