I have tried the hacks posted on this site, and to no joy, I cannot get my dvd to play region one. Does anyone have any other remote hacks I can try?

the later 709`s and the 809`s need a different hack. with the AIWA hi-fi remote press shift9 once, this should make the machine show `coldstart` in the display, now press shift9 five or six times in rapid sucession until the disc tray jumps. reset the childlock password to 3521 and you should be region and macrovision free. have fun!!
