I reccently bought a Grundig GDV 220. I need a region hack for it. Macrovision seems to be already disabled as I can record Chicken run and Random Hearts without a problem. I have tried the hacks for the previous grundigs but can`t seem to get them to work. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

This hack DEFINITELY works. Remove discs from tray. On the blue DVD logo screen hold open/close, stop and forward skip on the actual player for 3 to 5 seconds. A screen will appear allowing you to select region number 1-6 and FREE.

Cheers, I`ll give it a go. Have you tried to record a DVD to VCR, is the Macrovision disabled or have I just been lucky with the discs i have tried

Hi Nick,
I was wondering if you know whether the hack you`ve given should work on the GDV 210a model. I tried it but it didn`t seem to work. That`s probably because I`m doing something wrong though! :)

I tried the hack for the Grundig GDV 220 , I got the screen up allowing me to change reions ! I have a region 1 dvd on the way so I`ll try it out properly when it arrives ! Thanks for the hack ! I was wondering about when you choose FREE , does it stay permanently ? If not how many chances have you of changing the regions ? will this allow me to view movies from regions 1-6 ? Will I be able to view all the special features that are on the dvds ? Thanks for the help !
