Hack Help Forum
I had someone I know make my DVD 750 Region-free with a Marantz RC2000-MKII Remote control. First you had to make sure there was no CD in the player and the display read no disc. Then you had to press a special key on that remote (I cannot remember which and neither can the guy that helped me do it) and "--- --- --- ---" appeared on the display (Maybe this is the same as pressing Play and 159 or something as I read elsewhere in this forum, as it seems this has the same effect).
Then you had to enter the code "222 222 005 255" and press play.
It worked for my player, although I have only tried Region 1 and 2 discs. I do not have to switch between regions and everything works fine. I was told this was supposed to work on other models from Philips and Marantz as well but I haven`t tested it.
Maybe this is usefull for anyone that wants a region-free DVD 750. If it works using
Can anyone with a 750 verify this using its own remote control?
RE: Region free Philips DVD 750
I`d like to try this on my 710, but first I`ll need to buy some imported DVDs - can anyone recommend an online store where I can buy some from? Thanx. :)
There might just be one linked off of our R1 news page.
RE: Region free Philips DVD 750

RE: Region free Philips DVD 750
Sound like the remote you friend had was a learning remote and had learned the code from a philips service remote ... I have heard about this before .... I doubt anyone would let you have this though ....
BTW we can do the 750 to auto by either reprogramming or chipping
