Hi, i`m sorry if this topic`s been posted to death.

I tried the instructions given here and i`ve gotten the no disc screen, which is what i`m supposed to.
But my DVD player still won`t play multi region DVDs.
Could the code not work because
a. My player is region 1
b. I`m not using the universal remote.

The reason I`m don`t have the universal remote is that I can`t find it anywhere here. I`ve found it online at exhorbant prices.

Can someone confirm that
a. The code does work
b.Maybe I`m missing a step, should their be a disc in the drive? waht region should it be?
do i need to solder anything?
