Still waiting for MRM to remove macro!
I doubt they will as the 705 is an updated 250 and nobody ever removed macro from that.
I may stick with the 505 its good player.

Oh give it two weeks or so :-)
Their programmer is a bit busy at the moment with Panasonics, Sonys and trying to stop his girlfriend killing him.
And yes the 505 is a nice player (now for a real artifact experience try looking at the spaceship in Flash Gordon R2 - when they fly into the spinning firey thing on the way to Mongo. It looks like its made of Lego (TM) )

RE: HITACHI 705 Multiregion Firmware Here!
Chris Have you got a 505?
They have been trying to mod the 705 for over a month, they are waiting on the multiregion software, which I already have:P
At the end of the day the 705 is basically a 250 in a new case with an iproved firmware(128k bigger, probably to fix branching problem with the old 250). Which is not a bad thing but this is supposed to be Hitachi`s top player.
You would think they could have come up with something new!
The 705 was supposed to have the ESS chipset in but hitachi changed back to the old C-Cube used in the 250 after the ESS fiasco came out.
Now it has the same good picture of the 250 but no real options.
Hitachi are not taking DVD serious when you look at their VCR range.
The only thing that can save there rep is the new DVD+ROM player out later this year.

Actually, I think the 128K bigger is for the CD-RW stuff for the DV-W1E. The 250 was fixed with R2 and R1 firmware which didn`t grow. It looks like the 250, 705 and W1 all use the same firmware.
