it doesn`t need to be chipped, you have been listening to too many dvd `chip` shops if you believe that. The remote works and is really simple to use. I was fortunate and got hold of one for free, and to be honest, how these shops can warrant charging 40-80 pounds for the remote (or even lie to you and say they have put a chip inside) for 2 minutes work is unbelievable. I just wish I had explored the engineers options before i used the remote, to see if you really needed this `remote`, because after pressing two buttons it was done !!!! As it is now multi-regional, I aint going to mess around with the options......... Maybe have a look, press the stop and function button down on the unit and turn the volume nob up, hey presto. (remember you have to unplug the unit before changes take effect).

can you give me any hints as to where on the Engineers menu I should be looking to make it Multi - Region ???
its all a bit mind boggling!

i tried this, it did not work, however i got into the test mode menu by pressing stop and display together and turning the volume up, is this the menu you are talking about, if so how do i proceed
