Hi I need some advice about buying a dvd player. I am interested in the WHARFEDALE DVD 750 from Tesco (£180) or the APEX AD - 600A from Ionark (£300).
I know both have the option of playing R1 dvd disks but I don`t think the wharfedale has a Macrovision option, plus the apex can play mp3 disks. I do not know how good or bad the picture quality is on ether one of them. and now I have just find out about the SCAN SC 2000 from scan (£187) I don`t now much about this one, or how it stacks up against the other two?
Which one would you recommend, I should buy. Thanks Shokat

If Macrovision disabling is important to you, there are cheaper options than the Apex 600A, you could get a much higher quality chipped player for less than £300.
Both the Wharfe and Scan are good machines, the latter is faster but has minor lyp synch problems (due to be fixed in a firmware update) whilst the former is rather noisy and has its own annoying quirks.

Also it seems that the latest versions of the Apex that are now shipping have had the hidden menu removed in the firmware, thus making it a less attractive option.
