does anyone know how or if i can get my alba dvd108 to play region 1 dvds?

The original Alba DVD108 plays all regions out of the box - it doesn`t need a hack. This isn`t the case with the newer DVD108Xi, however - if you got one of these (presumably from Argos?) you`re best off just taking it back and seeing if you can swap for a DVD108 or (preferably) DVD114.

If it has a display window on the left and a small rosette of controls on the right then try: open tray, setup, 2812, change region, setup and away you go.
