Akura dvd player problem.

Hi i`ve just bought an Akura dvd in my local Kwiksave, no problems with it playing everything thrown at it but i was wondering should there be some kind of light or led to show that it`s on when you press the power button as this is the second machine the other one was a bit rowdy when it was switched on with an irritating humming noise and there was no led lit on that either. I`ve bought it to replace my alba 108 that i was fed up with. It works great nice picture as well but it seems strange there`s no knowing visually that the unit is on.
Any info on the matter would be appreciated.

Alba 108 vcd problem

Hi i`ve had my alba 108 close on a year nowand it`s been working fine withthe hacks available but lately i`ve been unable to ff or pause etc svcd`s. The problem is if i go back to play back it goes back to the beginning everytime even if i just press pause. pdc is set to off with me. I had the same problem with my combi untill i set pdc to the off position but no such luck with the alba . Any info on the matter would be appreciated

Yes your right Mike, i`ll just have to put up with it or get another model it`s a pity really , i really like the dvd player.

Hi, i`ve had my 108 for quite some time now, and am now getting fed up pressing goto or 5 repeatedly. i thought there would have been a permanent hack by now for playing vcd`s as i`ve seen numerous models that have this feature. is it an impossibility to find ,that`s why i don`t see any entries on the forum. I`m thinking of buying a scott model to replace it because the goto hack is very hit or miss.
