Anyone know of a multi-region hack for the Pioneer 525 machine?
(asides chipping, and software downloading?)

everythings fine
the same hack should work for your machine

This is what I found on dvdscene for the 626:

Press Setup

Scroll along to "General"

Scroll down one to "Setup Menu Mode" to reveal Advanced and Basic Window

Scroll across and down to highlight "Basic Step 5"

Press "Display" to reveal the present region code in the bottom part of the window.

Press "Condition Memory" then enter the required Region Number (1-6) twice.

The new Region Number should now be displayed in the window

Press Setup to end


PLEASE NOTE :


This region hack does not work with all versions of the Pioneer DV626, and also this is a temporary hack, as each time you wish to play a different region you have to repeat the process.

Pioneer players dont have remote hacks ... they must have modified firmware for these instructions to work

It can`t hurt trying.
And what about the Pioneer 505?
That hadn`t modified firmware had it??

It cant hurt to try .. that`s true .. regarding the 505 ... before my time mate ... never saw one ... probabily needed a solder bridge to enable the region mod or something like that
