Page 1 of Toshiba SV220E Region Hack

I`ve bought this player and its region locked, does neone know how i can unlock it?

If you mean the `SD` 220E region 2 model then there is a firmware available for download which must first be burnt to a CDR.

I take no responibility for this as some people report this to work OK but others not (although it doesn`t appear to do any damage anyway).

I haven`t done this myself, just what I`ve seen on the net.

If you were hoping for a remote hack then I`m afraid it`s not possible for any Toshiba models as far as I am aware.

Toshiba are notorious for not being able to be hacked.

However, I have heard that the following cheat works on most Toshiba players:
1. Place an unprotected Region 1 disc (eg a trailer disc) in the Player and Play;
2. When it gets to the FBI Warning Screen, open the disc drive (without stopping) and replace with the protected Region 1 disc you wish to view;
3. Press Play and the Player will be fooled into thinking that you are still playing the unprotected disc.

I haven`t tried it myself but it does sound plausible
