Firstly I tried the hack posted on the hack pages to no effect ( maybe that one will work for you).. The one above suggested by whitt is the one that worked for me without any problem although I did enter 0 instead of 7 on the second command as this is the number for multi=region rather tha 7 which is the code for region bypass... Hope this helps because I don`t know what else to suggest.

Thankyou for the update on the Pacific DVD 1002 hack. I`ve just got a new one of these budget DVD players from ASDA for £67.89 and it`s a perfect Xmas gift with the multiregion. For the price and features it`s good value for the money.

I did find that the bypass "7" code didn`t work & went for the "0" one.

I must say that a lot of other help forum sites don`t tell you to have a region 2 disc in the player when entering the code. Good work Guys & Girls

Funnily enough I forgot to leave a disk in when I entered the code and it worked anyway. Good player though . Maybe they should rename this one as after all the effort to hack Bermuda Triangle seems more apt than Pacific.

Every time I open the drawer to put a disk in I find myself strangely drawn to the Microwave. Does anyone know if that annoyingly loud "DING" can be disabled?? Thanx guys

Saw these players in ASDA and agree they sound like a good player for a low budget xmas present. Do they play VCDs also???

Yes they play VCD, they also play mps, cd-r and cd-rw. Have just been downloading a few moview from net and they have so far all played on machine. Only thing is i`m still trying to hack but am going to use the advice on this page.

I just bought this machine today from asda and have spent the last hour trying the various hacks provided here BUT I can`t get them to work and I can`t figure out why!? Has there been a recent change with this machine? Everybody seems to hack it easily.
I have tried the various methods given here: with/without R2 disc, tray open/closed differing numbers for region etc. but no joy. The screen is green so presumably this is the latest one used by many of you and should work.
Let us know how you get on snoopydoo and anyone else with advice.....
