Question: If the DVD drive on my PC locks on region 2 will I be able to access DVD-ROM features on discs from other regions ?

Is the DVD player software you are using locking on R2 or is it the firmware of the DVD drive? Cos if it`s just the software then you can download something like DVD Genie and switch regions whenever you want.

It hasn`t locked region yet Mutoscope. If I go open up the properties dialog box of the D drive, it tells me that I have four chances left to change region. It also says that once I`ve used up my chances I will be unable to change region - even if I reinstall Windows or install the drive in another computer. I`m guessing that`s firmware and that I won`t be able to access DVD-ROM feature on discs from other regions once my drive locks on region 2.
