Philips DVDR-880 Multiregion Hack Please........
Has anyone succesfully employed the 750 hack to this machine.
I am comlpletely new to the Programmable Remote (ONE FOR ALL) game and any help would be greatly appreciated as my unit is only one week old and i am concerned about the RCE compatability of this hack.
I also heard at work that one of the dudes used it on his DVDR machine and now gets picture distortion at the top of the screen.
Please help a novice willing to learn.

RE: Philips DVDR-880 Multiregion Hack Please........
I hacked my DVDR-880 using the hack for the Philips DVD-750 (I used the One4All 6 remote and the code 121 212 005 255 - don`t worry that there aren`t that many dashes shown on the front panel when you go through the 750 hack, just keep typing and it works).
I did find a slight problem. When playing Region 1 films only I get a set of lines across the very top of the screen. There are two of each colour (R,G,B) and they are really thin lines. Once the film starts you don`t notice them and they don`t appear on Region 2 or DVDs recorded on the machine.
I posted on this forum about the lines but got nothing back so I assume that either there is no fix or, an this one is a lot less likely, I am the first mug to try to hack my DVDR-880.....
RE: Philips DVDR-880 Multiregion Hack Please........
I have bought the suggested ONE FOR ALL remote and applied the hack.
Every thing is "GREAT" now (touch wood!) . I have tried "RESIDENT EVIL" film which i believe is RCE encoded and it works just fine. I have been asking a trusted colleague in the wokshop where i am employed and it has been suggested that the lines you are experiencing may be attributed to the fact that your setting for display on your T.V. are not set to "MULTI" i.e. PAL + NTSC compatible. I am lucky enough to be able to change these settings. Failing this , purchase a GOLD connector ribbon type SCART and this should alleviate any interference you may be experiencing (Tried And Tested better than standard). It may cost a few pounds more (spend about 20 quid) but the end results are worth it. Thanx for taking the time to reply.

RE: Phillips DVDR-880. stuck as region one forever?
Im having a heck of a time hacking my dvd player. If I ever do manage will it be stuck as region one, or will I have to keep having to change it. My mae has a samsung and has hacked her so that it is now a no-region dvd player, so she doesnt have to keep changing the region. Can you do that with this make.

RE: Philips DVDR-880 Multiregion Hack Please........
I repeat my warning to DVDR-880 users. My machine is still in Belgium where it has been sent for repairs after messing with the software. It`s been there a month now.
