I bought my DVDR880 yesterday. Great machine ! I tried to "hack" it unsing the Philips-750 hack but it doesn`t appear to work. I have:
- Downloaded Neo-Tek software and installed that + the IR code file on my palm pilot - Switch DVD remote to "DVD Player" - Press "dvd955multizon" key on palm pilot.
The 880 display seems to accept the "palm key" (it flashes...) but no "---" appear. I`ve tried it with disk in, disk out, player on player off. All without any luck.
Also: I spotted the "upgrade firmware" message in this DVD hack but I`m a bit nervous about that. Does anyone know how to find out what the current firmware version is before I upgrade it ?

Succesfully hacked a clean DVDR880 using 750 Instructions. Note the bit about using the System Menu to change the remote controller used with this system.... to DVD Player (by default it is on DVD Recorder). This makes it recognise the RC6 Code Set used on the One 4 All hack.

Got the philips dvdr880 last week but i cant get it to play my region 1 discs can anyone help.I dont have an all4one remote,ive switched the machine to player mode on the remote setup.i pressed play then 1,5,9 the front display showed 9 spaces like this"---------" i then entered the code 121212005255 pressed play NO DISC appeared on the display i turned off the machine but when i tried to play a region 1 disc i got a message telling me the disc was the wrong region for the player ! can anyone tell me where im going wrong please its doin my head in thanx.
