Page 1 of REQUEST TO ALL HACK HELP FORUM USERS : read before you post in this forum !

It`s time for the perennial moderator whinge about using the search facility and reading the notes at the top of this forum i.e. :

"Also Sonys, Panasonics, most JVCs, Toshibas cannot be hacked via the remote. A chipping company (and therefore payment of a fee) is necessary."

We are still getting countless postings about the above machines, and it`s getting a little tiresome now.

Regulars should please themselves if they want to answer these queries (again and again and again), but just below that sentence there`s this mythical beast called a Search box !!!

Please use it : although it makes nice decoration, it`s actually a very good search engine for the site too !

So there really is no point wasting your time or ours writing to say "what do I do to hack DVD player X". We will either tell you to post in the Forum, or simply delete your message.

Well, thats for tha attitude in this posting. If you continue to get requests and queries about issues you do not cover perhaps YOU need to review what you have written and how you present it in the forum rules. I read them and managed to miss all the above crap you just spurted, Think about it!!!!

On the region hacks forum, it states:

"You CAN remote hack your PHILIPS player without paying the rip off fees demanded by chipping companies, click here for more info! Also Sonys, Panasonics, most JVCs, Toshibas cannot be hacked via the remote. A chipping company (and therefore payment of a fee) is necessary."

In the rules it states:

"Before posting a question which might have been answered before, take advantage of the `search` feature that the forum software has. Doing a search on "Apocalypse Now" will list every thread with relevant information that may help you if you want to ask whether this disc is to be released soon."

By the Moderators email it states:

"If you have any problems with this service or complaints concerning other users, please email the Moderators explaining the problem and we will do our best to assist you."

How would you suggest we make it clearer than that ?

Might I add, that if you had done a SEARCH for

"Sony DAV-S300"

You would have found some 62 previous forum posts relating to hacking your player.

Could you not alter your search box so that there is something to click on("go" or "search") like most sites do??? (instead of having to press the return key)
Then you might get alot less repetition of postings

Agree with Biteman, if you type in text, then change the this forum/all forums you need to click back into the text box to press return, bit of an arse really.
