DVD Box office - is it really cheaper ?

rollneck (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Friday, 24th November 2000, 19:27

I recently ordered an Avengers box set from Admit One, very reliable bunch it was 35 quid. I then visit DVD Box Office and see said box set for 25 quid !

However its a Canadian site in dollars.......

Could anyone help with the following,

DVD Box Office

Has anyone bought from them?

Did you get stung for import duty and VAT?

How quickly did your stuff arrive?

Any observations would be welcomed, Cheers.

I order some stuff from dvd box office.

Now they have their web site sorted out it`s mucho better.

My disc`s came in ten days and is cheaper than any where ELSE i HAVE TRIED.

GET BILLED IN CANADIAN DOLLORS its cheaper.

Their service is great they even email you back if you have a query the next day or if you catch the time differance right within an hour.

No Duty or problems with customs either.

I`ve ordered from them quite a few times - never been hit for custom/import duty.

Delivery hit and miss in that they tend to take a bit longer (usually 10 days from the email saying they`ve sent it) than other suppliers and its a bit of a pain with back orders/out of stock.

Overall though I`ve never had any problems with them.

Having spent a lot of money buying dvds months after the rest of the world I found Dvd Box Office.

I`ve bought over thirty films from them, with another 5 on order now.

As far as I know this seems to be one of the best sites around.

Cheap, secure, fairly quick and no problems (so far !!)

I concur the other comments. I have made a recent purchase and found the service and prices to be excellent. Another fact to consider is that P&P is free, the price you see is the price you pay. I would also suggest making the payment Canadian Dollars, the exchange rate is better at the moment than the US Dollar.
